Magma is a London-based Art group founded in 2008.
One of the principal aims of the collective is to generate opportunities for its members and to foster dialogue between disciplines, including painting, sculpture, performance art, installation, video and other visual art practices.
The group`s dynamic proposes an open-end conversation between its members, external collaborators and associates, and encourages the generation of “spaces of creativity” and exchange, where artistic, social, political or other issues can be freely expressed and developed.
The identity of Magma is that of a changing and adapting effort created by those integral to its development.
The collective is composed by artists from all around the world, a large number of which live and work in London, with a common goal of creating progressive interdisciplinary art events across Europe and worldwide.
Current projects from the Collective, such as Mnemonic City ( London, Madrid ), concentrate on the exploration of Urban Spaces as a means to understand human nature, the complexity of contemporary life in cities, and the flux and changes of these mutable entities.
